2025 ARCH Annual Meeting & Ice Cream Social

All are invited to the Wentworth House for this year’s annual meeting – this year’s celebration is sure to be extra sweet!

TIME: Quick Member Meeting at 6:00, Fun and ice cream from 6:15-7:30
COST: This event is free and open to all!
Archaeology & Ice Cream!
After a short business meeting for members (details below), archaeologists Emerson Baker and Alix Martin will share preliminary findings from the archaeological field school at the original Wentworth House site.
Then linger awhile to enjoy an ice cream social, take a tour of this year’s exhibit, Please Be Seated, and mingle with fellow ARCH members!

Proposed Amendment:
Proposed amendment to Article IV (Officers), Section 3.d of the ARCH By-laws
Current wording:
d. The treasurer shall be responsible for ensuring that the Association is financially accountable, has mechanisms in place to keep it financially sound and is operated appropriately. The treasurer reports to the board and to the members at the Annual Meeting. The treasurer shall be bonded.
Proposed change: Replace last sentence with of section d with The treasurer shall be provided an annual stipend of $50.00.
Reason for the proposed change: Cost and extensive requirements for financial controls. By providing the treasurer with this minimal stipend, the treasurer is treated as an employee for the purposes of insuring for employee losses through theft or fraud under our three existing insurance policies. Bonding would require a fourth insurance policy, a Crime Protection Insurance Policy. Such policies are generally designed for municipalities, not small nonprofits, and would cost significantly more than the $50 stipend.
