Living History Weekend with Harmon’s Company of Snowshoe Rangers

January 17 - January 18
Living History Weekend with Harmon’s Company of Snowshoe Rangers

Experience the frontier in winter!

Step back in time to the 1740s and 1750s and meet Captain John Harmon’s Company of Snowshoe Rangers. Militia companies like Harmon’s protected northern English settlements from attack by the French and their Native American allies by patrolling the colonial frontier during the long New England winters. Members of Harmon’s Company will demonstrate winter camp craft, the use of flintlock muskets and traditional snowshoes, and the clothing, equipment and tactics used by the frontier militia.

SATURDAY: January 17, 10:00 – 4:00
SUNDAY: January 18, 10:00 – 3:00
RSVP: You can RSVP & Share this event on Facebook (This also helps us spread the word!)

Admission is $5 for adults; the event is FREE for children and ARCH members.

Visitors may also tour the Wentworth House; warm up by the hearth and watch food being prepared in 18th century fashion; and experience other aspects of winter life in colonial New England.
